No After All

So I didn't do the chore/job thing after all. Mostly because I haven't had time to set the whole thing up, and also because I have been able to keep the house clean with no problems. Now that we have furniture in the front room the mess gets spread out making it much simpler to keep it in check, and the house looks good! Though we still need to paint and clean the carpet.
And my kiddos are SO good at helping me with out me needing to pay them for it. I haven't scrapped the idea all together, but it is on hold for now.
Christmas is coming so we are dealing with that now. I like seeing the kids' joy at recieving toys and such, but I have to say I'm not too keen on the holidays. I'm no scrooge, I promise. I'm all for people getting into it if they want to. I just find it too plastic and superficial not to mention it is extremily commercial.
I saw a movie where a couple would go on vacation to some tropical destination during the holidays instead of celebrating them. If we didn't have kids we probably would do that too. Or better yet, we would go on a mission trip to truly celebrate the joy and love of Christ with others. I rather use my money for that than to tithe it to the Black Friday gods.
In fact, it is something that I would consider doing with the kids someday, once they get bigger.

  1. I know Christmas time is a boom for the businesses and in one way or another they try to make the best of it. You as a business owner know about it. I see it this way: business try to take advantage of the celebrations and OVER promote their sales. But thanks to that, a lot of families can keep their income to support their family's needs, the business owner as well, and even those business that do very bad during the year, can recover in these season. Money, services and products exchange is what our whole society and world is base on. So, in one way or another, we like it or not, we are part of it, Christmas season or not. So all those black Friday sales and etc., bring food, roof and a way to afford their expenses to a lot of families. And that is a joy. Then we the public, or clients, I am talking about me, have the opportunity to buy gifts for my love ones that in another way or time I can not. I know that we can give each other gifts any other day of the year, but we don't do it because we can not afford it most of the time, or at least I can not. So for me black Friday is a bless. And for me the most important part of this season, is that I can have my children and grand children with me, and guess what, I can do my FAVORITE thing to do, give them gifts! I think I enjoy more the part of giving gifts to all of you than you enjoy receive them. I know we can see each other any time we can, the problem is that for one reason or another we never can't. At least once a year we make the effort to be together. So Christmas season is a joy for me, have you with me and give you something is my biggest pleasure of the whole year. I love you so much and I know all of you know, but giving you something is not just to show you how much I love you, it is to see your happy faces, in a happy moment in a happy season, in a happy family and that is the reason Christmas is my favorite season. And add to this the celebration of Jesus birth, that makes the whole thing so special that as soon the season is coming, I start feeling joy in my heart. And makes me happy that the money that spend buying gifts for the people I adore, makes happy to another families as well.
